Job description

Position Title: Senior Technician - Engineering HotBox

Department: HB Engineering

The Bloom Energy Mumbai team seeks a highly motivated technician to support its Fuel Cell Hotbox Engineering development and testing team. The technician will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team to improve the performance and manufacturability of current and future solid oxide fuel cell Hotbox technology across different product lines.

Job Responsibilities

• Must have good Hands‑on working experience.
• Good knowledge of different types of fittings and tubing.
• Hands‑on metal cutting, grinding, and polishing knowledge.
• Troubleshoot and repair of all testers at basic level.
• Perform test set‑up installations or modifications as instructed.
• Carry out mechanical fitting/plumbing and work as assigned on daily basis.
• Conduct routine testing (as directed by the HB engineers) and perform maintenance activities for the HB team’s projects from time to time.
• Perform maintenance/repair activities on HB team test stations.
• Coordinate with vendors on delivering/receiving parts & fixtures and intimating the HB engineers of the same.
• Coordinate the inventory items (import and export) with the team and ensure the entries are tracked.
• Willingness to do heavy lifting and movement with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Basic working knowledge on computer operations including Outlook, Office, Excel data analysis at basic level.
• Willing to help Engineers for data processing and report writing for ongoing projects.
• Understanding CAD modeling software will be preferred.

Key Skills Required

• Experience in diverse testing environments desired with demonstrated hands‑on troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to fuel cell technology will be plus.
• Must have knowledge of tubing, fitting and its standards.
• Must be willing to do Hands‑on testing on projects.
• Demonstrate a hard‑working attitude and self‑motivation.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Team player.
• Motivated self‑starter, capable of organizing tasks with little to no oversight.
• Good interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively participate in multi‑disciplinary teams.

Education

• ITI in Mechanical/Production/Metallurgy is essential.
• Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Metallurgy Science will be a plus.

Experience

Between 2 - 6 years of related experience in the field as mentioned above.
