Job summary

Sumo India is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to bridge Level Design and Engineering across multi-platform titles, collaborating with UK-based teams.

You’ll empower designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring systems and workflows are scalable and technically sound.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Technical Design theory, standards and best practices in the creation of robust systems and gameplay objects.
• Demonstrable experience in some form of scripting (visual/text based), or programming languages.
• Experience working with industry-standard game engines and design tools.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication and feedback skills, both written and verbal.

Sumo India are looking for Senior Technical Designers to join our growing team of designers focused on building robust and cohesive levels and gameplay experiences for a variety of multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK based teams.
As a Senior Technical Designer in the World discipline, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering. Through application of a strong knowledge of both design theory and technical know-how, you’ll empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring that gameplay systems, content, tools and workflows are efficient, scalable, and technically sound.

Responsibilities

Relevant Skills and Experience

Essential

Desirable

• Professional experience in Game Development, in the field of Technical Design.
• Experience collaborating with outsourced or external development teams in multiple time-zones.
• A background spanning varying genres such as open world, action-adventure, platforming and/or racing titles.
• Familiarity with performance, memory, and technical constraints in world building.
• Knowledge or experience of working with object-oriented programming / languages such as C++.
