Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a System-Level HIL Test Engineer in Bengaluru to drive test specification development and execution for automotive domains. You will work with cabin, brake, ADAS, HMI, and powertrain areas, translating system requirements into robust HIL tests and automation scripts.

The role requires hands-on experience with HIL environments, dSpace tools, CANoe/CANape, and programming in C/C++/Python. Collaboration across teams and ongoing skill development are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Electronics and Communication or similar.
• Hands on system level HIL testing experience & HIL integration.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues during testing.
• Ability to understand system level requirements and implement in HIL environment.
• Good knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS protocols.
• Familiarity with vehicle testing is a strong plus.
• Proficient in dSpace ControlDesk and CANoe/CANape tools.
• Proficient in C, C++, Python; Agile and JIRA familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Understand system level requirements for Cabin/Brake/ADAS/HMI/powertrain.

• Prepare automation scripts for test specifications and ensure robustness.
• Set up HIL environments for test campaigns (integration, SW flashing, ECU parameter updates).
• Execute test specifications and observe system behaviour.
• Collect and analyse test data (CAN, Diagnostic logs) to evaluate system behaviour.
• Prepare test reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot issues observed during testing.
• Assist new team members on HIL testing tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with component owner to understand the new requirement
• Develop system level HIL test specification based on the requirement
• Prepare the automation script for test specification and ensure the script robustness
• Prepare the HIL environment for test campaign like HIL integration, SW flashing, ECU parameter update, test and measurement environment creation
• Execute the test specification and observe the system behaviour
• Collect and analyse the test data like CAN & Diagnostic log to evaluate system behaviour
• Prepare test report and communicate the findings to the stakeholders
• Troubleshoot the issues observed during testing
• Assist the new team members on HIL testing tool and techniques

Requirements

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech (Electronics and Communication or similar)
• Hands on experience in system level HIL testing environment & HIL integration
• Strong analytical skill to diagnose and resolve issues observed during testing
• Capability to understand the system level requirement and ability to identify its implementation methodologies in HIL environment
• Good knowledge on dSpace Control desk, dSpace configuration desk, Matlab, Simulink, CANoe, Automation tool, Diagnostic tool, CANape
• Expert in issue troubleshooting with possible root cause and preparation of detailed report
• Strong knowledge on communication protocol like CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS
• Good knowledge on programming languages such as C, C++, Python
• Familiarity with vehicle testing is a strong plus
• Should be familiar with Agile methodology and the JIRA toolchain
