Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure infection prevention and control practices.
  • Uphold patient safety, dignity and confidentiality.
  • Supervise junior nurses and nursing assistants.
  • Coordinate handovers between shifts.
  • Ensure availability of medicines and equipment; manage inventory.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and escalate as needed.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Nurse to join our nursing team at Chetpet Campus. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to supervise junior nursing staff while ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and patient-safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, clinical condition, and response to treatment, and report any abnormalities promptly.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and other treatments safely as prescribed by physicians.
  • Assist doctors and medical teams during clinical procedures, treatments, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing records, patient charts, medication records, and other clinical documentation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control practices.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  • Supervise, guide, and support junior nurses and nursing assistants in their daily responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper handover and takeover of patient information during shift changes.
  • Monitor the availability and appropriate utilization of medicines, medical equipment, consumables, and nursing supplies.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and escal critical patient conditions to the concerned physician/senior medical team.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of emergency equipment and nursing stations.
  • Educate patients and their attendants regarding medications, treatment plans, procedures, and basic post-care instructions as required.
  • Participate in patient rounds and communicate relevant clinical observations to the medical team.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing procedures, NABH standards, and applicable clinical guidelines.
  • Maintain professional conduct and contribute to a safe, disciplined, and patient-focused work environment.
