Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Senior Substation Primary Engineer in Bengaluru to lead primary design for HV/MV GIS substations, transformers and associated sections. The role focuses on developing SLDs, layouts, and calculations per TES-P-119, with emphasis on quality control and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will perform power system studies, guide junior engineers, and coordinate with clients and authorities to deliver projects in line with SEC and NG standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with SEC HV & EHV substation projects.
• Prepare primary design drawings and calculation reports per TES-P-119.
• Coordinate with SEC and NG standards and obtain approvals.

Responsibilities

• Create HV/MV single line diagrams and equipment layouts.
• Prepare drawings and sections for GIS buildings (220/132kV, 33/11kV).
• Conduct short circuit, load flow, harmonics and motor starting studies.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate with stakeholders.

Job description

The Senior Substation Primary Engineer requires strong background in Substation primary engineering on SLD, arrangement, layout and section for HV GIS switchgear, MV switchgear, power transformer, station service transformer, capacitor bank & reactor, etc. and with 5+ years of relevant experience with SEC HV & EHV substation projects. The responsibilities include preparation of substation primary design drawings and calculation reports in accordance with TES-P-119. The role requires technical support and guidance to junior engineers.

Coordinate and deliver substation primary system designs in compliance with SEC, NG and other relevant authority standards and approval processes. Prepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, tender documents, and proposals for substation and distribution projects. Provide technical guidance and leadership, support knowledge sharing within the team, and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
