• Coordinate and deliver substation protection, metering and automation system designs in compliance with SEC, NG and other authority standards.

Job description

The Senior Protection Engineer requires strong background in protection principles, relay coordination, substation automation, and with 5+ years of relevant experience with TAQA and SE HV & EHV substation projects. The responsibilities include preparation of Control, Protection, Metering, Automation and Monitoring systems design drawings and calculation reports in accordance with TES-P-107, TES-P-108 & TES-P-119. The role requires technical support and guidance to junior engineers.

Key Activities

• Prepare and review design drawings & documents for protection, metering and automation systems that include the following:
• HV & MV Single Line Diagram with CT/VT
• HV & MV Metering One Line Diagram
• HV Shunt Reactor Protection Logic Diagram
• HV Bus Bar Protection Logic Diagram
• MV Interlock Logic Diagram
• MV System Protection Logic Diagram
• TFR, DSM and SOE Point List
• SAS Signal List
• Protection and Control Cable Schedule
• Protection Coordination Calculation Report
• CT/VT Calculation Report
• Other drawings and documents as required by SEC
• Coordinate and deliver substation protection, metering and automation system designs in compliance with SEC, NG and other relevant authority standards and approval processes.
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, tender documents, and proposals for substation and distribution projects.

Provide technical guidance and leadership, support knowledge sharing within the team, and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
