Job summary

Growth For Impact is seeking an experienced sustainability specialist to review energy performance in buildings, run compliance modelling (BREEAM/LEED/PartL/EPCs) and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. You will work with building services design teams and translate data into clear visuals using Excel and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Sustainability, Electrical, Building Services or related engineering discipline.
• 4–5 years of experience in sustainability roles or junior sustainability specialist positions.
• Demonstrated passion for sustainable and NZC buildings with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of building fabric elements related to energy efficiency and building services engineering and design.
• Competence with IES VE and thermal modelling; familiarity with SAP/PartL modelling and upcoming regulatory changes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings in AutoCAD or Revit and the ability to translate them into models.

REQUIREMENTS

• – Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Sustainability, Electrical, Mechatronics, Building Services, Architectural Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• – 4–5years of experience in sustainability or junior sustainability specialist roles.
• – Passion for sustainable and NZC buildings with good verbal and written communication skills.
• – Building services engineering and design abilities; knowledge of building fabric elements related to energy efficiency.
• – Competence in IES VE software and CIBSE TM54 thermal modelling; familiarity with IES Apache HVAC preferred.
• – Experience with PartL/SAP modelling and awareness of upcoming regulatory changes.
• – Proficiency in AutoCAD and preferably Revit; ability to read/comprehend drawings to create models.
• – Strong knowledge of BREEAM/MAT01 assessments and energy‑related credits.
• – Experience with OneClickLCA and embodied carbon modelling; ability to assess embodied carbon benchmarks and develop decarbonisation pathways.
• – Good Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
