Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Sourcing for Smart Meter manufacturing in Vasai, Mumbai. You will lead end-to-end procurement, manage supplier relationships, and optimize costs for Single Phase and Three Phase meters, AMI products, and related modules.

The ideal candidate has at least 12 years of hands-on experience in the Smart Meter/Energy Meter industry, with strong technical and commercial skills to support high-volume manufacturing.

Job Descrip¢on

We are looking for an experienced sourcing professional with a minimum of 12 years of hands-on
experience exclusively in the Smart Meter / Electricity Meter manufacturing industry. The ideal
candidate should possess strong technical, commercial, and supply chain exper¢se to lead end-to-end
procurement ac¢vi¢es for Single Phase, Three Phase, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
products while suppor¢ng high-volume manufacturing opera¢ons.

Key Responsibili¢es

1. Lead end-to-end sourcing and strategic sourcing for Smart Meter manufacturing, including Single Phase Meters, Three Phase Meters, CT Operated Meters, Communica¢on Modules, and all electronic, mechanical, plas¢c, and packaging components required for meter produc¢on.
2. Possess strong technical knowledge of Smart Meter architecture, SMT and PCBA manufacturing, SMD and THD electronic components, Metering ICs, MCU, Communica¢on Modules (RF, NB-IoT, LTE/4G, PLC), LCDs, CTs, Relays, Current Sensors, Connectors, Passives, PCB, PCBA, Semiconductor Components, Magne¢cs, and all cri¢cal BOM items used in electricity meters.
3. Develop and manage strategic supplier rela¢onships across India and China, maintaining a strong network of manufacturers, authorized distributors, and semiconductor suppliers to ensure compe¢¢ve pricing, supply con¢nuity, and alternate sourcing.
4. Drive procurement cost op¢miza¢on through commercial nego¢a¢ons, BOM cost analysis, value engineering, localiza¢on ini¢a¢ives, should-cost modelling, supplier benchmarking, annual cost reduc¢on programs, and con¢nuous margin improvement while maintaining product quality and delivery commitments.
5. Handle complete BOM cos¢ng, supplier quota¢ons, price nego¢a¢ons, landed cost calcula¢ons, import cos¢ng, currency uctua¢on analysis, freight op¢miza¢n, and commercial evalua¢ons to achieve target material margins.
6. Monitor global semiconductor markets and proac¢vely manage procurement risks arising from geopolitical situa¢ons, supply shortages, logis¢cs disrup¢ons, taris, import regula¢ons, and currency uctua¢ons by developing alternate sourcing strategies and business con¢nuity plans.
7. Own material planning, procurement scheduling, supplier produc¢on tracking, ETA monitoring, lead-¢me management, shortage management, inventory op¢miza¢n, safety stock planning, and on-home material availability to support produc¢on schedules without line stoppages.
8. Track complete sourcing ac¢vi¢es from RFQ to PO release, supplier conrma¢on, produc¢on follow-up, dispatch planning, shipment tracking, customs coordina¢on, and warehouse receipt while ensuring adherence to project ¢melines.
9. Work closely with customers, engineering, R&D, NPI, Quality, Produc¢on, Planning, Finance, and Project Management teams to ensure ¢mely execu¢on of new product development, engineering changes, prototype builds, pilot produc¢n, and mass manufacturing.
10. Lead supplier development, supplier qualica¢on, vendor audits, performance evalua¢ons, quality improvement ini¢a¢ves, capacity assessment, contract nego¢a¢ons, NDA management, and long-term supplier partnerships to strengthen the procurement ecosystem.
11. Manage procurement KPIs including supplier OTIF, inventory turns, procurement savings, cost reduc¢on, supplier quality, lead-¢me reduction, localiza¢on targets, alternate source development, material availability, and procurement cycle ¢me.
12. Demonstrate excellent customer interac¢on and communica¢on skills by par¢cipa¢ng in customer mee¢ngs, supplier reviews, project discussions, cost nego¢a¢ons, technical-commercial evalua¢ons, and execu¢ve management reviews while providing regular updates on sourcing status, procurement risks, mi¢ga¢on plans, and project milestones.
