Job summary

Whirlpool India Limited in Pune is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Model-Based Design (Simulink/Stateflow) to develop production SW for home appliance ECUs.

You will migrate legacy C code, perform MIL/SIL testing, define test strategies, and collaborate across teams to translate requirements into robust models.

Deep knowledge of control theory and experience with MATLAB/Simulink are valued; the role offers opportunities to advance automation in MBD processes.

Qualifications

• Model-based design and development using Simulink/Stateflow from software requirements.
• Experience with MIL/SIL testing and verification.
• Experience converting legacy C code to Simulink/Stateflow per MAAB/JMAAB/MISRA.
• Proficiency with V&V tools like TPT, Simulink Test, M-test.
• Strong knowledge of embedded C and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Understand system requirements, define SW architecture, derive software requirements and design.
• Develop Simulink/Stateflow models from scratch for home appliance ECU production SW.
• Deliver completely validated model as work product.
• Migrate existing legacy C code to Simulink/Stateflow per guidelines.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis on model and code.
• Define test strategy and test plan for model verification in Simulink.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into model specifications.
• Conduct simulations and analyze results for performance improvements.
• Develop and maintain system models using MATLAB/Simulink (good to have).
• Design and implement control algorithms (good to have).

The team you will be a part of

Responsible for delivering tested and verified Embedded Code generated through Model-Based Development. And driving strategy for continuous improvement in existing processes.

Your responsibilities will include

• Should be capable of understanding system requirements, define the SW architecture and derive software requirements & design.
• DevelopSimulink/Stateflow model from scratch for home appliance ECU production SW
• Responsible for delivering completely validated model as work product
• Migrating Existing Legacy C Code to Simulink/Stateflow model as per Mathworks modeling guideline/standards
• Performing Static Analysis and Dynamic Analysis on Model and Code
• DefinetheTeststrategy and Test Plan for Model Verification in Simulink Environment
• Proposesolutions to automate MBD process/workflow, guideline checks, framework creation etc..
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and translate them into model specifications.
• Conducting simulations and analyzing results to evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement. (Good to Have)
• (Good to Have) Developing and maintaining system models using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or similar software.
• (Good to Have) Designing and implementing control algorithms or strategies to optimize system behavior

Minimum requirements

• 5-8 yrs experience in Model based design & development (Simulink/Stateflow) from Software requirement/design
• Experience in Performing MIL, SIL Testing (Unit Test- Integration Test- System Test)
• Experience in preparing (Unit Test- Integration Test- System Test) specification from SW Requirement/design
• Min3yrsexperience in using the V&V tools- TPT, Simulink Test, M-test etc
