Job summary

Google is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for YouTube Live, Creator Platform in Bengaluru. You will own and operate the Live control room and help scale its architecture to support multiple client teams.

You will lead a new Live team in Bengaluru, collaborate with cross-functional partners in Bengaluru and San Bruno to deliver reliable live streaming features and scale third-party APIs for broader ecosystem support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with mobile applications and back-end services development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Senior Software Engineer, YouTube Live, Creator Platform

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with mobile applications and back-end services software service development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Flutter, iOS, Android).
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with full stack, client and front-end engineering and experience leading consumer-facing product development, ideally in video.
