Job summary

Google's YouTube Live team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and scale the Creator Platform's live features. You will own the live control room and work across Bengaluru and San Bruno teams to deliver reliable streaming capabilities.

You will contribute to back-end in C++ and front-end in TypeScript, mentor juniors, and help lead consumer-facing product development in video. The role requires deep systems thinking and hands-on architecture experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate a Live control room, and scale its architecture to support multiple client teams.
• Lead and coach the newly created live team in Bengaluru.
• Work closely with cross-functional leaders in Bengaluru and San Bruno to develop modern and reliable live streaming features.
• Scale third-party APIs to help better scale and support third-party ecosystems.
