Job summary

AVEVA in Bangalore is seeking an experienced R&D Senior Member of Technical Staff to design, develop, and deliver scalable full-stack web and cloud applications for AVEVA CONNECT. You will work with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on development in C#/.NET, Angular, and Azure, with a strong focus on security, performance, and AI-assisted development, while mentoring juniors and shaping engineering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, and enterprise cloud-based application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Angular (TypeScript) and Highcharts.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, and AI application development.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architecture (microservices, containers, Kubernetes, messaging, observability).
• Strong software design fundamentals, including OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and reusable framework/component design.
• Strong engineering quality and security mindset, including automated testing, secure coding, authentication/authorization, dependency risk management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong technical leadership skills, including mentoring engineers, conducting design/code reviews, defining engineering standards, and collaborating across Development, DevOps, Security, Product, and R&D teams.
• Strong awareness of cybersecurity principles and secure SDLC practices.
• Ability to translate business/product requirements into technical designs, executable backlogs, dependencies, estimates, and realistic delivery plans.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable full-stack web and cloud applications.
• Work closely with the Product Owner, stakeholders, and Scrum Team to understand requirements and design, implement, and deliver software solutions that meet business and customer needs.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning/estimation, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Customer Support to troubleshoot customer-reported issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive timely resolution through hotfixes and regular releases.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code that is peer-reviewed, unit/integration tested (as applicable), documented, and delivered in line with agreed engineering standards.
• Ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements, applying industry-standard secure coding and cybersecurity practices.

The job

The R&D Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) is a senior, hands‑on full‑stack engineer responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality, scalable, and secure web and cloud solutions for AVEVA CONNECT. The role requires strong expertise in C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, Angular with Highcharts, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps CI/CD, along with strong engineering practices around quality, security, and performance. The SMTS works closely with Product Owners and cross‑functional R&D teams to drive end‑to‑end delivery and architecture decisions, resolve customer issues, and mentor engineers through design/code reviews and best practices, including effective use of AI‑assisted development tools.

Key responsibilities

Essential requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, and enterprise cloud‑based application development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with modern front‑end development, particularly Angular (TypeScript) and data‑visualization libraries such as Highcharts.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, and AI application development.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud‑native architecture (microservices, containers, Kubernetes, messaging, observability).
• Strong software design fundamentals, including OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and reusable framework/component design.
• Strong engineering quality and security mindset, including automated testing, secure coding, authentication/authorization, dependency risk management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong technical leadership skills, including mentoring engineers, conducting design/code reviews, defining engineering standards, and collaborating across Development, DevOps, Security, Product, and R&D teams.
• Strong awareness of cybersecurity principles and secure SDLC practices.

Desired skills and competencies

• Good understanding of Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Azure automation using PowerShell / Azure CLI.
• Strong operational awareness, including observability, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance diagnostics, and production support.
• Experience with technical discovery, prototypes/POCs, architecture documentation, and communicating technical decisions across teams.
• Experience using AI to improve developer productivity, automated testing, code quality, and engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with emerging AI development frameworks and tools.
• Good knowledge of SQL Server, database design, data access patterns, and performance considerations.
