Job summary

Prodapt is seeking a skilled Oracle and MS SQL DBA in Chennai, India. You will install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server databases, manage RAC with Data Guard, and apply patches with routine maintenance tasks.

You will monitor performance, tune queries, ensure security/compliance, and lead backups, recoveries, and migrations while collaborating with developers and other teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Oracle DBA responsibilities including backups, patching, and RAC.
• Experience as SQL Server DBA and related maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate and Data Guard architectures.
• Hands-on with AWS RDS administration and certificate renewal.
• Strong performance tuning, security, and regulatory compliance skills.
• Ability to provide 24x7 production support and rapid issue resolution.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Oracle DBA:
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
• Apply quarterly patches for Grid and Oracle home
• Configure and maintain standby database.
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies.
• Perform regular backups and recovery operations.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.
• Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades.
• Setup Oracle golden gate both uni-directional and bidirectional.
• Maintain Oracle Golden Gate synchronization with source.
• Identify the Oracle Golden Gate sync related issues and implement the best practices.
• Identify the performance issues and implement the best practices.
• User creation and access management.
• Storage capacity planning to ensure ASM and tablespace were maintained under threshold and avoided repetitive space related incidents.

• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
