Job summary

Prodapt Solutions is seeking an experienced Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA to manage and optimize enterprise databases from Chennai, India. The role includes installation, upgrades, patching, standby configurations, and high-availability setups using RAC and Data Guard.

Candidates must handle performance tuning, backups, security, and migrations across on-prem and cloud environments. The position requires hands-on skills with Oracle GoldenGate, AWS RDS, and PostgreSQL replication tools, as well as

Qualifications

• Strong experience as Oracle DBA with hands-on in Grid Infrastructure and ASM
• PostgreSQL DBA experience with replication, backups, and performance tuning
• Experience configuring security, compliance, and monitoring in large databases

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.

Responsibilities

Oracle DBA

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
• Apply quarterly patches for Grid and Oracle home
• Configure and maintain standby database.
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies.
• Perform regular backups and recovery operations.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.

• Setup Oracle golden gate both uni-directional and bidirectional.
• Maintain Oracle Golden Gate synchronization with source.
• Identify the Oracle Golden Gate sync related issues and implement the best practices.
• Identify the performance issues and implement the best practices.
• User creation and access management.
• Storage capacity planning to ensure ASM and tablespace were maintained under threshold and avoided repetitive space related incidents.
• Create and maintain RAC with Data guard.
• Administration of RAC database.

Postgres DBA

• Excellent Knowledge on PostgreSQL Installation, configuration and troubleshooting replication tools - -
• Troubleshoot issues involving Unix levels commands
• Fix issues related to Backup and Recovery with commands.
• Good Hands-on on troubleshooting related to any user related problem like access management, space management, generic errors, etc
• Database upgrades and migrations on any Cloud Environment
• Different type of replication concepts like Group replication, Multi master replication
• Excellent performance troubleshooting using pgadmin commands, tools like pgpool, repmgr, oswatcher, etc
• Troubleshooting issues related Database upgrades and migrations.
• Install, configure and troubleshooting replication tools
• Troubleshoot issues involving Unix, storage or network problem
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.
