Job summary

Gartner in India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver data-driven, scalable web applications and microservices. You will be part of a scrum team, owning full-stack features end to end and coordinating with the business to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

Strong Java/J2EE with Spring Boot, React, ES6+, HTML/CSS, and AWS deployment are essential. You will mentor juniors and help raise engineering standards across platforms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with full-stack ownership.

Job Summary

About the role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to build data driven, scalable, and secure applications and tools that support the sales and service delivery organization at Gartner. You will be part of a scrum team, responsible for the full stack design, development and delivery of web applications and microservices, and for coordinating closely with the business.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, testing and delivery of features end to end - from requirement discussion through to production support.
• Lead and contribute to architecture and technical design discussions, and document and review detailed designs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to review and analyze business requirements and translate them into workable technical solutions.
• Make decisions independently on analytical problems and methods, including root cause analysis of production issues and preventive follow-up.
• Perform and participate in code reviews, peer inspections and design specification reviews, upholding coding and testing standards.
• Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies and take ownership of sprint commitments within a globally distributed team.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to continual improvement of architecture, engineering practices and tooling.
• Learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively across multiple platforms.

What you ll need

Strong IT professional with 4 to 6 years of experience in software development using Java technology. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high ownership and accountability.

Must have

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in software development.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated full stack ownership.
• Advanced knowledge of Java/J2EE and Spring/Spring Boot, including RESTful API and microservice development.
• Strong hands-on experience with React JS, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML and CSS.
• Relational database experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL or equivalent), including schema design, SQL and query tuning.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, IAM).
• Unit and integration testing with JUnit, and a strong grasp of object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Experience with GIT and Agile/SCRUM delivery.
• Experience with Docker is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and drive them to resolution.
