Job summary

Optum India is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React.js, Java, and Spring Boot. You will architect secure microservices, build RESTful APIs, and deploy cloud-native apps on Azure, while implementing robust CI/CD pipelines and AI-assisted tooling.

You will work in an Agile/Scrum environment with cross-functional teams, participating in SDLC from requirements through production support and ensuring code quality through

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 4+ years of equivalent software engineering experience
• 5+ years of software development experience building scalable applications with Java and Spring Boot
• 3+ years of front-end engineering experience using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• 2+ years of experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure
• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps platforms
• Experience utilizing automated testing, static code analysis, and AI-enabled development tools to accelerate software delivery

Responsibilities

• Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, static code analysis, and test automation
• Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to drive SDLC execution from requirement analysis through production support
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and drive performance optimization, security compliance, and operational excellence
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and directives, including changes to work location, teams, schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps platforms
• Experience utilizing automated testing, static code analysis, and AI-enabled development tools to accelerate software delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Spring Security and web application security protocols
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance and peer code reviews
• Experience championing modern engineering practices and evaluating emerging AI software tools to enhance engineering productivity
• Proficiency with state management frameworks (e.g., Redux, Context API) and responsive web design
