LexisNexis Risk Solutions in Chennai, India seeks a senior software engineer to design and deliver complex software products. You will mentor juniors, collaborate with customers, and drive technical solutions from concept to deployment.

The role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience with React, Java, and AWS, plus strong TDD, security remediation, and agile practices. You will work with cross-functional teams to solve real‑world challenges for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong front-end experience with React and solid Java knowledge; familiarity with open-source tech including Apache Camel and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in AWS Cloud technologies (ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda/serverless, CloudFormation).
• Security remediation, test-driven development (TDD), architecture, data manipulation, and optimization.
• Experience with payment processors and integrating payment web services.
• Strong Agile/SDLC experience and ability to lead and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact for external resources and stakeholders.
• Provide design input across a product and mentor junior engineers.
• Work directly with customers and end users to translate needs into solutions.
• Act as go-to person for coding and technical issues and review specs for components.

About the Role:

This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.
• Provide design input across a product.
• Work directly with customers and end users.
• Serve as acknowledged “go to” person on coding and technical issues.
• Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Mentor lead software developers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, with a BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong front-end development experience with React , along with solid knowledge of Java development and open-source technologies , including Apache Camel and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in AWS Cloud technologies , including ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda/serverless solutions, CloudFormation templates, and AWS database creation and upgrades.
• Strong experience in Java security vulnerability remediation, test-driven development (TDD), software maintenance, architectural principles, data manipulation, and optimization techniques .
• Experience with payment processors, payment transactions, and the development and integration of payment web services .
• Strong knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, technology trends, industry best practices, and external resource models , including Managed Services and Staff Augmentation.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with internal and external technology teams , solve complex technical and business challenges, troubleshoot issues, assess risks and impacts, and translate findings into effective solutions.
• Excellent project planning, organization, time and change management, delegation, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills , including communicating effectively with customers and senior/executive stakeholders.
