LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver multi-system software solutions. You will mentor junior engineers, work with customers, and drive architectural decisions while applying secure, test-driven practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience in a professional setting.
• Strong front-end development experience with React and solid knowledge of Java and open-source technologies (Apache Camel, Spring Boot).
• Expertise in AWS Cloud technologies (ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda, CloudFormation).
• Experience in Java security vulnerability remediation, TDD, maintenance, architecture, data manipulation, and optimization.
• Experience with payment processors, transactions, and payment web services development/integration.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and external resource models (Managed Services, Staff Augmentation).
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with internal and external teams and communicate with customers/senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers and end users to translate requests into solutions.
• Be the go-to person on coding and technical issues.

About The Role

This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design - typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

• Mentor lead software developers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, with a BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong front-end development experience with React, along with solid knowledge of Java development and open-source technologies, including Apache Camel and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in AWS Cloud technologies, including ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda/serverless solutions, CloudFormation templates, and AWS database creation and upgrades.
• Strong experience in Java security vulnerability remediation, test-driven development (TDD), software maintenance, architectural principles, data manipulation, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with payment processors, payment transactions, and the development and integration of payment web services.
• Strong knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, technology trends, industry best practices, and external resource models, including Managed Services and Staff Augmentation.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with internal and external technology teams, solve complex technical and business challenges, troubleshoot issues, assess risks and impacts, and translate findings into effective solutions.
• Excellent project planning, organization, time and change management, delegation, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills, including communicating effectively with customers and senior/executive stakeholders.
