Job summary

Crewmeister is seeking a skilled backend engineer in Bengaluru to design, build, and operate scalable Java/Spring Boot services for a growing SaaS platform.

You will drive AI-enabled product development, integrate AI into engineering workflows, and mentor peers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Backend applications with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience designing scalable cloud-based SaaS systems
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on AI integration into products and workflows
• Familiarity with LangChain/LangGraph frameworks
• Proficiency with modern AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, NotebookLM)

Your Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead the implementation of complex features and technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Architect reliable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions for a growing SaaS platform.
• Apply AI technologies to improve product development, engineering workflows, and delivery speed.
• Build and maintain internal AI-powered tools, skills, agents, and automations that increase engineering productivity.
• Evaluate and integrate modern AI capabilities into products and development processes.
• Drive software quality, operational excellence, and great developer experience.
• Perform code and solution reviews while promoting engineering best practices.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

What You'll Bring

Required

• Strong experience building backend applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable software systems in cloud-based SaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI into products, engineering workflows, or software development processes.
• Familiarity with AI development frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies.
• Strong proficiency with modern AI engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, NotebookLM, or similar solutions.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• A growth mindset and enthusiasm for exploring new ways to build software using AI.

Nice to Have

• Experience with agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, or AI-powered SaaS products.
• Experience building internal AI platforms, agents, or developer productivity tooling.
• Knowledge of RAG architectures and modern LLM application patterns.
• Python experience for automation and AI-related development.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
