In this role, you will design, develop, and provide support for platform/s for Prudential across backend and frontend technologies. This is a hands‑on senior full stack software engineering role.

We are looking for an Engineer who is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role requires depth of knowledge and expertise across all aspects of the software development lifecycle, while partnering continuously with multiple stakeholders to stay focused on common goals.

As part of this dynamic role, you will work closely with business units and other IT teams to deliver leading edge technology to enable digital capabilities of Prudential Singapore.

Job Description:

• Deliver technical excellence.

• Contribute to the translation of business requirements into well-architected full stack software solutions.

• Participate in and, where required, facilitate technical discussions with the team.

• Adhere and contribute to platform-related technical standards and processes.

• Develop data integration, migration, and deployment strategies.

• Deliver applications in accordance with relevant IT policies and procedures.

• Adhere to the company’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Identify and solve complex technical problems collaboratively.

• Contribute to code reviews, technical design, and engineering best practices.

Who we are looking for:

• Strong background in design/development (functional and non-blocking programming) and support of large web-based systems, with complete software product lifecycle exposure.

• Strong culture of software testing (Unit Test, TDD, BDD).

• 5-8 years of full stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies.

• Experience and affinity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

• Complexity estimation / planning poker.

• Strong background in Java/Spring Boot backend development and modern frontend application development using React or Flutter.

• Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning, engineering best practices, and deployment methodologies.

• Must have experience with:

• Java 11+.

• RESTful APIs and Microservices development (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), with integration into web or mobile frontends.

• TDD/BDD (JUnit, Cucumber).

• Any RDBMS and NoSQL.

• Code Version Control tools (GIT, Bitbucket).

• Basics of DevOps (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Basics of Cloud platform (services such as Kubernetes and API Gateway).

• Basics of Event Bus (Confluent Kafka).

• Hands‑on experience with React or Flutter, including component development, state management, API integration, responsive design, and automated testing.

Working Experience:

• 5-8 years in designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications.

• Experience in Agile software development.

• Experience with 3rd party vendor engagement is an added advantage.

Education:

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.

Language:

• Fluent written and spoken English.
