Job summary

Amplify in Mumbai seeks a senior software engineer to own end-to-end feature development across the stack, with React/JavaScript on the frontend and Ruby on Rails on the backend. You will ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of a SaaS product while maintaining code quality through tests and reviews.

You will collaborate with Product, UX, QA and global teams, contributing to estimation, planning and delivery in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Ruby on Rails proficiency.
• Solid JavaScript and React skills.
• Good SQL database knowledge.
• Experience with SaaS or large-scale web apps.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Own low-level design, implementation, and unit testing of new features within Amplify
• Build across the stack frontend functionality in React/JavaScript in line with UX designs, and backend services and models in Ruby on Rails
• Ensure solutions meet the performance, scalability, and reliability requirements of a SaaS product
• Maintain and enhance the existing Amplify application, including timely resolution of customer-reported issues
• Safeguard long-term code quality through unit tests and peer code reviews, identifying defects and promoting clean, maintainable code
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into customer solutions, contributing to estimation, planning, and delivery within an Agile team
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude / Claude Code preferred) to accelerate design, coding, testing, and code review while maintaining engineering quality standards
• Document significant designs and changes, and follow information security protocols to protect confidential data

Preferred candidate profile

Essential

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails
• Solid experience with JavaScript, including React
• Good working knowledge of SQL databases
• Experience building and maintaining SaaS or large-scale web applications
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, and operational considerations

Desirable

• Practical experience using AI coding assistants Claude / Claude Code preferred to accelerate design, development, and code review
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
• Exposure to performance optimisation, monitoring, or production support
• Experience working with distributed or global teams
