Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to identify and fix production issues, design solutions with business input, and support on-call tasks and incidents.

You will collaborate on test planning, data setup, and ensure timely deliveries, participate in design reviews, QA/UAT, and release readiness, with emphasis on communication and problem-solving in a healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• BE/MCA/B.Tech / MTECH / MS graduation in 16+ years of formal education.
• 4+ years of experience on AS400, RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, CL/CLLE with AS400 DB2/SQL knowledge.
• Good knowledge of Agile practices.
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of ALDON or change management tools, GIT, Jenkins.
• Proven ability to identify system changes and verify business requirements.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills; adaptable to evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design documents with business input and review with SME/QA teams.
• Walk-through designs with stakeholders and prepare test data; execute test planning.

• Support QA, UAT and release phases via defect analysis and changes.
• Comply with quality requirements and work independently.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be able to identify and fix production issues
• Be able to provide solutions for business queries
• Be able to support on call tasks
• Be able to work on incidents/tickets
• Be able to join and support war rooms for any P1/P2 issues
• Prepare detail design for the Solution by discussing with business. Consult with Business, Subject Master Expert, users to evaluate business requirements, evaluate existing or proposed systems, and prepare detailed technical design document from which programs will be written
• Walk-thru the technical design document with Business/SME/QA group and support team
• Prepare test planning & setup test data. Execute test planning based on project requirements
• Ensuring timely deliveries for all assigned tasks
• Participation in Design reviews, Test Case reviews, and Production Support readiness reviews for new releases
• Support QA, UAT and Release phases of the project via defect analysis, change maintenance, etc.
• Adhere to all quality requirements
• Be able to work independently
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• B.E/MCA/B.Tech / MTECH /MS Graduation (16+ years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant)
• 4+ years of experience on AS400, RPG/RPGLE,COBOL, CL/CLLE:
  Strong knowledge on RPG/RPGLE,COBOL, CL/CLLE, AS400 DB2, SQLs
• Good Knowledge on Agile practices
• Any knowledge on health care industry would be an added advantage
• Knowledge on ALDON, or any change management tool, GIT, Jenkins
• Proven ability to identify system changes and verify that technical system specifications meet the business requirements
• Proven solid problem solving, analytical kills
• Proven good communication and presentation skills
• Proven good attitude and self-motivated
• Adaptable to work in Evening SHIFT (11:30 am – 8.30 pm or 2:30 PM – 12AM)
