Job summary

Lightstorm Telecom Connectivity in Gurugram is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of a platform area, designing production-grade software in collaboration with the Engineering Manager and seniors. You will lead architectural decisions, reviews, and planning while mentoring junior engineers and writing clean, well-documented code.

Strong Python and Java production experience, plus deep PostgreSQL expertise, are required.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience delivering complex distributed systems end to end.
• Strong production experience with Python and Java stacks.
• Deep database expertise with relational design and migrations.
• Cloud-native production experience on AWS with containers and Kubernetes.
• Event-driven architecture knowledge with Kafka and schema evolution.
• API design across REST, OpenAPI, and gRPC with versioning.
• Modern engineering practices: CI/CD, code reviews, test automation.
• Observability using OpenTelemetry and related tooling.
• Strong problem-solving and clear written and verbal communication.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical must-have

• Eight or more years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering complex

distributed systems end to end.

• Strong hands-on Python (FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic) in production. Strong Java (JDK 21 or a recent LTS release).
• Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent) at scale: schema design, migrations,

partitioning, query performance.

• Cloud-native experience in production: AWS, containers, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Event-driven architecture in production: Kafka (or equivalent), topic design, ordering, backpressure, schema

evolution.

• API design across REST, OpenAPI, & gRPC. Versioning & backward compatibility for external consumers.
• Modern engineering practices: CI/CD, code review, test automation, contract testing.
• OpenTelemetry or equivalent for observability across services (traces, metrics, logs).
• Strong problem-solving skills & clear written & verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Time-series data at scale (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, ClickHouse, or equivalent).
• Graph databases (Neo4j or equivalent), Cypher, graph algorithms, & topology projection from a relational source of

truth.

• Stream processing at scale (Flink or equivalent).
• Applied machine learning in production: PyTorch, sklearn, XGBoost, MLflow. Model serving, drift monitoring,

feedback loops.

• LLM application engineering: agentic AI, prompt orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, evaluation. Familiarity with

Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Vector databases for retrieval & agentic memory.
• Frontend adjacency: React 19 with TypeScript 5 for real-time dashboards.
• Prior experience in telecom, network operations, OSS, NMS, or infrastructure software.
• Network protocols & telemetry: IS-IS, BGP, gNMI, NETCONF, OpenConfig, OpenROADM.
