Job summary

Photon in Chennai is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with 6-9 years of experience to lead automation initiatives using Playwright with Typescript, Jenkins and Karate. You will drive end-to-end test strategy and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases.

The role requires strong QA fundamentals, hands-on SDET experience with JS/TS, and a solid understanding of CI/CD and DevOps. Cloud testing expertise and non-functional testing are a plus.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of software quality engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in various testing types.
• Hands-on SDET experience with JS/TS (5+ years).
• Strong understanding of BDD, CI/CD and DevOps concepts.
• Expertise in Playwright, web testing, RESTful validation, Jenkins.
• Nice to have: DEC/Experience APIs, service virtualization.
• Knowledge of non-functional testing like accessibility and performance.

  • 5+ years of automation scripting experience (not record and playback).
• Good understanding of BDD, CI-CD and DevOps concepts is mandatory.
• Expertise in following is required:
  • Playwright Automation Tool
  • Web Browser Testing
  • Validation of RESTful web services
  • Jenkins (CI/CD Pipelines)
• Experience in the following is a strong plus:
  • DECs, Experience APIs
  • Client, Server Architecture
  • Service Virtualization (Wire-Mock)

• Understanding and working experience of Non-functional testing would be added plus.
  • Accessibility Testing using (NVDA, JAWS)
  • Chaos Testing, (Chaos Mesh, Chaos Buffet, Gremlin)
