Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enhancements, features, and integrations for storage ecosystem software including Kubernetes CSI Drivers, storage integrations, and cloud-native plugins.
• Analyze solution requirements and architecture to determine design, coding, testing, and integration activities.
• Develop scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions using modern software engineering practices.
• Write, review, and maintain unit, integration, functional, and automation tests; identify root causes and resolve defects.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making processes.
• Lead feature development efforts and collaborate with internal teams, open-source communities, and external partners.
• Drive software quality, CI/CD adoption, observability, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with product management, system architects, QA, DevOps, and support teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within project teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and automation to improve productivity and testing efficiency.

In the HPE Hybrid Cloud, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain enhancements, features, and integrations for storage ecosystem software, including:Kubernetes CSI Drivers storage integrations Storage automation frameworks Cloud-native plugins and operators Virtualization and container ecosystem integrations REST APIs, SDKs, and management services

What You Need To Bring

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 5+ years of software development experience in enterprise or cloud-native environments.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

Core Development Skills

• Strong software development experience in:Golang (Must), Python & Java (Preferred)
• Strong understanding of:Object-oriented design Distributed systems Microservices architecture RESTful APIs Event-driven architectures

Cloud-Native & Ecosystem Technologies

• Kubernetes ecosystem development, including:CSI Drivers Operators Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) Kubernetes APIs
• OpenStack ecosystem knowledge, particularly storage-related services.
• Container technologies:Docker Podman OCI containers
• CI/CD and DevOps practices:GitHub Actions Jenkins GitLab CI Automated testing and release pipelines

Storage Domain Expertise (Preferred)

• Enterprise block, file, and object storage concepts.
• Storage protocols and technologies:iSCSI Fibre Channel NVMe/TCP NFS SMB
• Experience with storage management platforms, data services, and high-availability architectures.

AI-Assisted Software Engineering Skills

• Effective use of AI coding assistants and productivity tools such as:GitHub Copilot Microsoft Copilot AI-assisted code review tools
• Experience applying Generative AI for:Code generation Unit test generation Documentation creation Root cause analysis Operational troubleshooting
• Understanding of:LLM concepts and prompt engineering AI-driven software development workflows AI-assisted DevOps and automation practices

Engineering Excellence

• Software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, system, regression, and automation testing.
• Strong debugging, performance analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical designs, architecture decisions, and trade-offs to engineering and leadership teams.
• Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional, and open-source collaboration environments.
