Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in Bengaluru seeks an experienced infrastructure software engineer to design, build, and operate modern CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments. You will work on Hybrid Cloud projects like Green Lake to enable scalable, automated workflows across multi-platform environments.

The role requires 8+ years in software development/DevOps with strong Python, Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes expertise, plus experience with automation using Ansible and monitoring

Responsibilities

• Participate in architecture, design, and implementation of build and development infrastructure and methodologies.
• Assist in management and automation of the build and release process including packaging build artifacts and collateral.
• Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure supporting software development and automated testing.
• Administer, maintain, and improve shared infrastructure, storage systems, redundancy, and operational best practices.
• Ensure required security patches and updates are implemented and kept current.
• Perform hardware forecasting and ordering and coordinate lab tickets for changes.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using Docker and Ansible.
• Design, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerized applications.
• Develop AI-powered automation and intelligent workflows to improve productivity.
• Integrate tools and services using MCP, APIs, and modern automation frameworks.
• Participate in rotational front-line support schedule.

This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

• Participate in architecture, design, and implementation of build and development infrastructure and methodologies
• Assist in management and automation of the build and release process including packaging build artifacts and collateral
• Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure supporting software development and automated testing, including tool integration, reliability monitoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Administer, maintain, and continuously improve shared infrastructure, storage systems, redundancy, and operational best practices, including documentation.
• Ensure required security patches and updates are implemented and kept current
• Perform hardware forecasting and ordering and coordinate lab tickets for physical or connectivity changes.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation efforts using cutting-edge tools like Docker and Ansible
• Design, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerized applications
• Develop AI-powered automation, agents, and intelligent workflows to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency
• Integrate engineering tools and services using Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, and modern automation frameworks
• Participate in a rotational front-line support (Admin Duty) schedule for tools and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need To Bring

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining software using industry best practices to ensure quality and traceability.

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Proficiency in Python is required
• Strong experience with Linux
• Expertise in administering remote-accessible infrastructure is required
• Experience with continuous integration tools and source control tools
• Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting tools and services throughout their lifecycle, while applying industry-standard best practices for code development, code reviews, testing, and maintainability
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of storage systems (filesystem, NFS, SMB, SSD, object storage, etc.) is a must
• Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types
• Experience with the general operation of Windows & Linux Operating systems
• Experience with monitoring of infrastructure using tools as Prometheus, Grafana, VMware
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge And Skills Desired

• Experience with source code management tools (preferably Git)
• Experience with defect tracking tools (preferably JIRA)
• Experience with Jenkins
• Experience with Configuration Management tools like Chef, Ansible or Salt
• Experience with Linux build and packaging concepts, particularly Debian
• Experience with build tools such as Tup, GNU Make, CMake
• Hands‑on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-assisted development tools
• Experience building AI agents, copilot, and workflow automation solutions, including integrations using Model Context Protocol (MCP), REST APIs, and related technologies
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Experience integrating Open Source tools and software
• Experience with modern developer productivity tools such as VS Code and GitHub Copilot
