Senior/Staff Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

About The Position

As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust AWS SaaS applications. This role requires close collaboration with data scientists, product managers, and subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient and dependable AWS SaaS applications using Python, Kotlin/Java, with React.js as a plus.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and subject matter experts.
• Write code and tests, construct prototypes, solve issues, evaluate and rectify bottlenecks.
• Actively participate in design discussions and provide pivotal input to guide technical resolutions.
• Document design, processes, RFCs, best practices, and methodologies.
• Respond to production issues, work with the rest of the team, and try to solve the problem within the time defined in SLA.

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with Python, 5 years hands-on experience with Kotlin, and 2 years experience with PostgreSQL.
• At least 7 years of experience in developing SaaS applications on AWS.
• Extensive experience with scalable API design and development.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in adhering to coding standards and guidelines.
• Expertise in static code analysis, unit testing, and other best practices ensuring high-quality code delivery.
• Experience working with IoT time series databases.

Nice to Have

• Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript based front-end development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD build pipelines.
• Understanding of DataOps.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of the Energy Industry.

Educational & Certification Requirements

• Bachelors in computer science or a related field is preferred.
• AWS certifications will be considered an added advantage.
