Job summary

Skydo in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and operate production systems spanning payments, the customer platform, and related tooling. You will ship robust services across domains where correctness matters and reliability is critical.

Collaborate with senior engineers, product, and leadership to define what gets built and ensure end‑to‑end ownership, with a focus on money movement reliability and scalable operations.

Responsibilities:

• You'll work across the systems that make Skydo run, from the payments and settlement core that actually moves money to the customer-facing application exporters use every day to the ops and compliance tooling that makes everything tick.
• Build and ship backend systems across payments, our customer-facing platform, or ops and compliance tooling wherever the sharpest problems are.
• Work on flows where correctness and reliability genuinely matter.
• Partner closely with senior engineers, product, and leadership to shape what gets built, not just how.
• Move fast without losing sight of the fact that real businesses and real money are on the other end.

Requirements:

• 4+ years building production backend systems at meaningful scale.
• Strong in Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on with AWS infrastructure, you've run services in production, not just written code someone else deploys.
• Deep understanding of reliability in money-critical systems: failure modes, idempotency, recovery.
• Real experience with distributed locking and the consistency problems that come with concurrent money movement.
• A track record of shipping end to end and staying accountable in production.
• Bonus: fintech, payments, or any domain where correctness is non-negotiable.
