Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Automation & Testing)

Join the Akamai Storage Engineering Team to develop and maintain our cloud storage platform, a key component of the Akamai Connected Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Participate in functional and product design reviews, incorporating feedback into test plans and test cases.
• Develop and implement automated tests for functionality, load, and performance.
• Create and execute tests on new features and capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of developers, Systems QA, release engineers, architects and program managers.
• Improve testing and automation infrastructures, define test plans and effective automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with storage technologies, cloud computing, Kubernetes/Docker, and networking concepts such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux and developing automation frameworks using Python (bonus points for SQL/CouchDB).
• Highly responsible, self‑managed, self‑motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, possessing excellent communication skills.
• Passion to understand, learn, and dissect new technologies quickly, with excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
