Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a senior software professional to design, develop, and maintain scalable services within the Marketplace Health organization. You will own end-to-end delivery across multiple components, ensuring code quality, observability, and security, while collaborating with product, design, and cross-functional teams.

You will lead reviews, drive engineering best practices, and mentor engineers, with emphasis on data-driven reliability, CI/CD improvements, and AI/ML-enabled

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Significant professional software development experience designing and building services or applications in a production environment.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery of services or components, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with system design, API design, and data modeling.

• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Introduction To The Team

The Marketplace Health (MPH) organization supports services, processes, and data analytics that maximize positive outcomes in EG's marketplace for both travellers and supply partners. We are a group of product and engineering delivery teams situated in Expedia Marketplace (Design & Trust), focused on the health (the state of well-being, free from issues) and trust (firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something) of the Expedia travel marketplace.

In This Role, You Will

• Design, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient services and applications, including clear low-level designs, robust APIs, and effective data models

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Significant professional software development experience designing and building services or applications in a production environment.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery of services or components, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with system design (including low-level design), API design, and data modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and evolving the architecture of multi-service or domain-level systems, including well-structured APIs, data models, and integration patterns
• Demonstrated success improving performance, reliability, and scalability of high-traffic or mission-critical systems using data-driven analysis and experimentation
• Experience driving engineering excellence initiatives such as test automation, CI/CD improvements, security hardening, and operational best practices
• Hands-on experience integrating or operating AI/ML-enabled capabilities within production services or workflows, including responsible use of AI to enhance user or business outcomes.
• Familiarity with AI-driven developer productivity or observability tools and applying AI-related techniques in a way that is appropriate and safe for large-scale software systems
