Job summary

Octave seeks a senior AI/ML engineer to advance world-class research and accelerate adoption across its divisions. You will collaborate with ALI Division to develop core capabilities for the Digital Backbone and support product roadmaps with data-driven insights.

You will build and deploy AI models, maintain training and evaluation pipelines, work with Azure ML/Databricks, and contribute to GenAI applications with Pipelines and LangChain.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years IT experience with 5+ years in AI/ML & Data Science.
• B.Tech /M.Tech in CSE with AI/Data Science specialization.
• 5+ years hands-on Python development.
• 5+ years building AI/ML, DL models.
• Experience turning AI into production-ready products.
• Proficient in predictive modelling, NLP, image/video analytics.
• Knowledge of LLM/Generative AI; GenAI apps and RAG pipelines.
• Strong Python and multiple programming languages.
• Data exploration and feature engineering with statistics tools.
• Experience with Azure ML, Databricks, Keras, TensorFlow, Theano.
• Transfer learning and model deployment in cloud/container environments.
• Frontend basics (React) to demo AI capabilities.
• Committed to learning and evangelizing AI/ML.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML capabilities for Digital Backbone with ALI Division.

Job description

The successful candidate will contribute to world class research in AI /ML and DL to accelerate the adoption of AI/ML by Octave divisions focusing on the following:

• Work closely with ALI Division in developing core central capabilities for use by the Digital Backbone
• Support divisional business needs in line with roadmap established by Product Management
• Collaborate with internal / external stakeholders to promote growth of Indian region
• Play active role in AI-based software product development of Octave divisions
• Setup and maintain the infrastructure for production AI developments and deployment (training and evaluation pipelines, deployment pipelines)
• Provide punctual consultancy to Octave divisions on AI technologies
• Perform quick feasibility studies and build MVP/POC collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to nurturing AI ecosystem at Octave R&D India and working closely with other AI practitioners from divisions
• Keep abreast of latest AI /ML & DL technologies, conduct productive research relevant to Octave business domain

Education / Qualifications

Experience

• 6 - 9 years of professional experience working in IT industry with experience with at least 5+ years in AI/ML & Data Science
• B.Tech /M.Tech in CSE, with specialization in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science
• At least 5 years hands-on software development experience in Python
• At least 5 years’ experience building AI/ML, DL models
• Strong experience of building AI-based products with clear distinction between AI development and AI productization practices
• Proven expertise in building solutions in the areas of predictive modelling, Image/Video analytics, Point Cloud Analytics & NLP using relevant methods like Classical ML, Deep Learning & Reinforcement learning
• Understanding of LLM/Generative AI fundamentals; experience building GenAI-based applications with production-level considerations is desired, RAG pipelines, vector databases, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LlamaIndex along with Agentic AI, MCP Servers
• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages with a strong foundation in a statistical platform such as Python
• Ability to perform Data exploration and Feature engineering using various statistical methods & tools like TSFresh etc
• Experience in building AI models in platforms such as Azure ML, Databricks, Keras, TensorFlow, or Theano
• Proven skills building models using techniques like Transfer learning
• Working knowledge of tuning ML/DL models using various industry tools like Keras Tuner, Ray Tune, Optuna, NNI etc.
• Working knowledge of deploying production ready AI models in a Cloud /Containerized environment
• Working knowledge of frontend technologies (preferably React) to quickly build demo applications
• Demonstrated commitment to learning latest AI/ML, DL technologies and evangelize AI/ML technologies in the organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
