Job summary

Octave is seeking a hands-on Test Automation Lead to drive automation strategy, framework development, and quality engineering excellence across our enterprise SaaS platform. You will own UI/API automation, CI/CD integration, and mentor a growing team in a technology-agnostic approach.

The role requires deep hands-on coding in Java and/or Python, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering scalable testing solutions in cloud environments. Hybrid Pune-based role with global impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, test design, and various testing methodologies.
• Hands-on programming in Java and/or Python with a language-agnostic mindset.
• Expertise in UI and API test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and REST Assured or similar tools.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or K6 is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments (Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals) is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Ownership mindset and ability to unblock teams while delivering outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, or similar cloud technologies.
• Good to have hands‑on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and K6.
• Experience working in validated and regulated environments (Life Sciences, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, or similar domains) is preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently unblock self and others while driving measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
