Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior SDET to build and maintain automation frameworks for Web and API testing, starting from scratch. You will define the automation strategy within squads, ensuring high test coverage and reliable release cycles.

This role emphasizes a developer-first approach to QA and mentorship across teams. You will work with REST Assured for backend testing, Playwright for frontend automation, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, while independently driving quality

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer.
• Strong Java programming skills for QA (developer-first approach).
• Extensive API automation using REST Assured.
• Proven frontend automation with Playwright.
• Deep understanding of shift-left testing and CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

• Framework Design: Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks for Web and API.
• Define automation strategy to ensure high test coverage and reliable releases.
• Create API automation suites to validate backend microservices.
• Implement frontend automation scripts to ensure top-tier UX.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer
• Technical Solvency: Strong programming skills in Java (a "developer-first" approach to QA).
• API Automation: Extensive experience using REST Assured for backend testing.
• Frontend Automation: Proven hands‑on experience with Playwright.
• Testing Philosophy: Deep understanding of the "shift-left" approach and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction on quality initiatives.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Domain Experience: Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.
• Experience with Performance or Load testing (e.g., JMeter or Gatling).
• Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure and SQL for data validation within test scripts.
• Experience working with Mocking frameworks.
