Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior SDET to build and maintain web and API automation frameworks from scratch, shaping the automation strategy within squads. The role emphasizes a developer-first QA mindset and scalable design to ensure robust test coverage across projects.

You will lead automation initiatives, coach engineers, and ensure high-quality releases on global client projects while working remotely from India.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Java (a developer-first approach to QA).
• Extensive API automation experience using REST Assured.
• Hands-on frontend automation with Playwright.
• Deep understanding of shift-left testing and CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

• Framework Design: Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks for Web and API layers.
• Strategy: Define automation strategy ensuring high test coverage and reliable release cycles.
• Backend Validation: Create API automation suites for microservices.
• Frontend Validation: Implement and manage frontend automation scripts for UX quality.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET Engineer
• Technical Solvency: Strong programming skills in Java (a "developer-first" approach to QA).
• API Automation: Extensive experience using REST Assured for backend testing.
• Frontend Automation: Proven hands‑on experience with Playwright.
• Testing Philosophy: Deep understanding of the "shift-left" approach and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction on quality initiatives.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Domain Experience: Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.
• Experience with Performance or Load testing (e.g., JMeter or Gatling).
• Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure and SQL for data validation within test scripts.
• Experience working with Mocking frameworks.
