The Senior SDET on the DMS Change Management Team is a strategic asset for our organization operating in this complex and demanding sector.
What you will be responsible for
- Technical Expertise:
- Expert‑level design and implementation of BDD frameworks using Gherkin and Cucumber (SpecFlow) on the C#.NET platform.
- Strong hands‑on programming skills in C#.NET for building and maintaining scalable, reusable test automation frameworks (Hybrid and Data‑driven).
- Proficiency in agile methodology and workflow, Azure DevOps (pipelines, work item tracking), and Salesforce know‑how.
- Knowledge of databases and SQL queries: ability to write queries to extract test data or verify results.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated BDD test suites into build/release pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Capital Markets — financial instruments, trading platforms, regulations, and industry best practices — is a strong plus.
- Testing Activities:
- Design and execute test plans and strategies: align testing activities with business requirements and project objectives.
- Author clear, business‑readable Gherkin feature files and scenarios covering functionalities, user journeys, and edge cases.
- Build and maintain automated regression, smoke, and sanity suites; execute manual testing where needed; identify, report, and track defects.
- Perform performance and security testing to ensure the system meets required standards.
- Analyze automation results and test metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to optimize testing processes and framework reliability.
- Communication and Collaboration:
Effectively communicate with stakeholders: developers, product owners, business analysts, etc. Collaborate with the development team to resolve defects and improve code quality. Participate in code reviews and provide testing/automation feedback. Present testing results, automation coverage, and findings in clear and concise reports.
- Additional Responsibilities:
Stay updated on industry trends: continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and BDD/automation best practices, including within the Capital Markets domain. Contribute to the testing community: share knowledge and expertise through presentations, internal training, or participation in industry forums. Take ownership of specific automation areas: become a subject matter expert for the BDD/Cucumber automation framework and drive its evolution.
What we value
- 7‑8 years of experience as an SDET / Test Automation Engineer in Quality Assurance.
- Expert‑level, hands‑on experience with Gherkin and Cucumber (SpecFlow) for BDD test automation, including framework design and implementation.
- Strong programming proficiency in C#.NET; target platform for automation development is C#.NET.
- Solid experience with test automation frameworks (Hybrid and Data‑driven) and UI/API automation tooling.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest test automation developments and BDD best practices.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, self‑assured approach, excellent communication and presentation skills, including listening.
- Proactive nature and a natural drive for problem‑solving, enthusiastic, committed, and result‑oriented.
- Good to have Capital Markets domain knowledge, preferably with buy‑side firms and experience.
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience working with Reference Data Management setup and understanding of various asset classes (Equity, Derivatives, Fixed Income, etc.) and market data feeds (Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT, etc.).
- Experience with performance/security testing tools and practices.
- Business knowledge requirements vary across product domains but are overall within the financial sector.
