Job summary

ISG Bengaluru is seeking a Sr Research Analyst to focus on data, analytics and AI software. The role evaluates data platforms, governance, DataOps, streaming and analytics, with findings published as Buyers Guides and Market Perspectives.

You will develop expertise, communicate with software providers, perform secondary research, and collaborate with senior researchers to deliver insights that help enterprises make informed software choices.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of research experience preferably in enterprise software.
• Experience in software provider research and technology.
• Ability to locate and analyze information from established and original sources.
• Excellent secondary research skills and analytical acumen.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data to identify findings.
• Experience in report writing is a must.

Sr Research Analyst: Data and Analytics Software

Position Summary

The role of the Sr research analyst is to be adaptive but methodical in applying analytical skills to the focus on the position. The research analyst will focus on the evaluation of data, analytics and AI software providers to determine the merits of their products and go to market strategies. The research results will be published in the form of Buyers Guides and Market Perspectives (blog posts).

Position Description

The ISG Sr Research Analyst will be dedicated to data, analytics and AI expertise area. The research analyst will participate in research across AI and data platforms, data management, data governance and DataOps, streaming and event technologies, and analytics. This role brings an informed point of view to the market and helps enterprises build trusted, modern and effective data-driven capabilities.

The individual is expected to develop expertise in the areas assigned and be able to communicate with fellow team members and with software providers. The Analyst is expected to discover and learn through researching specific software providers and participating in briefings with those providers. The research analyst will require strong analytical skills and ability to ascertain a point of view and determine the merits of the products from the software provider. The individual will have significant technology research experience, strong English writing and speaking skills, extensive experience in performing secondary research, and exceptional organizational skills.

• Excellent secondary research skills and analytical acumen.
• Analyze and interpret information from software providerand provide actionable insights
• Experience in report writing is a must.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data to identify relevant findings.
• Advanced Excel skills and Power-Point skills.
• Must be highly skilled in time management to facilitateinvolvement in multiple projects.
• Must have excellent teamwork skills as well as be self-directed.
• Must have the ability to work independently and manage communications with senior executives.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, collaborating with both the US and European regions. Might occasionally require long work hours.

Education level and experience

• Computer Science degree from recognized institutes preferably with MBA
• Overall good academic track‑record
