Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• Strong understanding of manual testing fundamentals and software testing methodologies.
• Experience preparing test scenarios and test cases from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Hands-on defect tracking and management using JIRA.
• Ability to identify, document, prioritize, and communicate defects effectively.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business requirements and evaluate application behavior from a customer perspective.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to prepare test scenarios and cases.
• Perform manual testing of web applications and validate end-user behavior.
• Validate AI-extracted information against source documents such as payslips, bank statements, and tax summaries.
• Identify data mismatches, extraction errors, UI inconsistencies, and defects.
• Design positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case tests; execute functional, regression, integration, UI, and exploratory testing.
• Log defects with clear descriptions, reproduce steps, and screenshots using JIRA or similar tools.
• Coordinate with frontend and backend teams to investigate and resolve issues and verify fixes.
• Participate in requirement discussions, sprint planning, reviews, and QA status updates.

Job Summary

HackerKernel is looking for an experienced QA Analyst with strong fundamentals in manual testing, test case design, defect management, and software quality assurance. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently testing web applications, validating AI-generated data against source documents, identifying defects, and ensuring that applications meet business requirements.

Experience with AI-powered document processing, financial documents, mortgage applications, or data extraction systems will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to prepare test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform manual testing of web applications and validate application behavior from the end user's perspective.
• Validate AI-extracted information against original documents, including payslips, bank statements, tax summaries, and other financial documents.
• Identify data mismatches, extraction errors, UI inconsistencies, functional defects, and critical issues.
• Design and execute positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case test scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, UI, and exploratory testing.
• Report defects with clear descriptions, screenshots, expected versus actual results, and reproducible steps.
• Use JIRA or similar defect-tracking tools to log, assign, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects.
• Coordinate with frontend and backend developers to investigate and resolve issues.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing before release.
• Participate in requirement discussions, sprint planning, reviews, and other SDLC activities.
• Maintain test documentation, test cases, bug reports, and QA status updates.
• Work independently while coordinating with multiple development teams.
• Identify potential usability, accessibility, performance, and scalability concerns and coordinate appropriate testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications
