Job summary

Money Forward India in Chennai and Pune is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to uphold quality of our SaaS products used by a global user base. The role focuses on API and E2E test automation, AI-assisted testing, and improving accessibility, with strong collaboration across regions.

You will own release quality, design and execute tests, review requirements, and help expand modern QA practices in a fast-paced, startup-inspired environment within an established listed company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of development or test automation experience using scripting languages.
• Experience testing web applications.
• Ability to read source code and create test cases.
• E2E automation using any framework.
• Experience with Playwright & TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own release quality by reviewing requirements, designing tests, reporting defects, and flagging risks.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and EMs from requirements to release.
• Review requirements and designs.
• Plan, design, execute tests and perform post-release confirmation.
• Maintain accessibility guidelines and checks.
• Improve unit test coverage and upstream quality via metrics.
• Automate non-functional tests using Chaos Engineering.
• Develop API and E2E test automation using AI-assisted testing.
• Test large-scale ledger accounting domain with complex business logic.
• Collaborate with global teams, share QA practices.

We are looking for a pioneering Senior QA Engineer to ensure the superior quality of our innovative SaaS products, catering to a global user base.

Key Responsibilities

• Release quality ownership: Ensure release quality for products by reviewing requirements, designing and executing tests (manual and automated), reporting and triaging defects, and flagging quality risks early to the team
• Cross-functional impact: You'll work closely with PdMs, Devs and EMs from requirements through release, and your input will shape product decisions.
• Review of functional requirements and designs
• Test planning, test design, execution, bug reporting, and post-release confirmation
• Maintenance of accessibility guidelines
• Establishment of accessibility checks in QA processes
• Promotion of accessibility within the internal QA community
• Improvement of unit test coverage
• Assurance of upstream quality using metrics
• Automation of non-functional tests using Chaos Engineering, etc.
• Modern QA skills: You'll work on API and E2E test automation and use AI-assisted testing.
• Real product challenges: You'll ensure quality for large-scale accounting (ledger) products. They have complex business logic and a high bar for accuracy.
• Global collaboration: You'll work with teams across regions and share practices with other QA engineers.

Requirements

Required skills and experience

• Functional testing, Data processing, API, Automation
• 8+ years of development experience or 8+ years of test automation experience using scripting languages.
• Experience in testing web applications.
• Ability to read source code and create test cases based on it.
• E2E automation using any framework.
• Experience with Playwright & TypeScript.

Nice to have

• Experience with various testing tools.
• Experience with AI testing
• Experience in UI or API test automation.
• Experience in building/maintaining CI environments.
• Ability to analyze logs and data to identify problems.
• Basic understanding of web accessibility (rough understanding of achieving WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria).
