Job summary

Thoucentric is seeking a skilled Python developer to design and maintain plugins that encapsulate business rules and data transformations. You will implement robust data-cleaning and mapping routines using Pandas and NumPy, and package plugins for easy use by implementation teams.

You will define clear interfaces, optimize performance on large datasets, and uphold coding standards with strong unit/integration tests.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on Python development in data-centric contexts.
• Deep familiarity with Pandas and NumPy for data transformations.
• Experience designing modular Python packages with clear configuration interfaces.
• Ability to translate complex, rule-driven requirements into clean Python code.
• Proficiency with pytest for automated testing and CI integration.
• Strong Git workflow experience including PRs, reviews, and releases.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design,build and maintain Python plugins that encapsulate business rules andtransformation logic such as custom aggregation/disaggregation, rule-baseddata enrichment, and time-grain manipulations.
  
• Implementdata-cleaning, validation, mapping and merging routines using Pandas,NumPy and other Python libraries to prepare inputs for downstreamanalytics.
  
• Defineclear interfaces and configuration schemes for plugins (for example,picklists for output grains and rule codes) and package them for easyconsumption by implementation teams.
  
• Profileand optimize Python code paths—leveraging vectorized operations, efficientmerges and in-memory transformations—to handle large datasets with lowlatency.
  
• Establishand enforce coding standards, write comprehensive unit and integrationtests with pytest (or similar), and ensure high coverage for all newcomponents.
  
• Triageand resolve issues in legacy scripts, refactor complex routines forreadability and extensibility, and manage versioning across releases.
  

Collaborate with dataengineers and analysts to capture requirements, document plugin behaviors,configuration parameters, and usage examples in code repositories or internalwikis.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• 5–7years of hands-on experience writing well-structured Python code, withdeep familiarity in both object-oriented and functional programmingparadigms.
  
• Expertmastery of Pandas and NumPy for transformations (group-by aggregations,merges, column operations), plus strong comfort with Python’s datetime andcopy modules.
  
• Provenexperience designing modular Python packages, exposing configurationthrough parameters or picklists, and managing versioned releases.
  
• Abilityto translate complex, rule-driven requirements (such as disaggregationrules, external-table merges, and priority ranking) into clean Pythonfunctions and classes.
  
• Proficiencywith pytest (or equivalent), mocking, and integrating with CI pipelines(e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated testing.
  
• Skilleduse of Python’s logging module to instrument scripts, manage log levels,and capture diagnostic information.
  
• StrongGit workflow experience, including branching strategies, pull requests,code reviews, and merge management.
