Job summary

Xencia Technology Solutions in Bengaluru is seeking a Microsoft Purview L2 Engineer to implement, administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Purview controls, support compliance investigations, and mentor L1 analysts.

The role focuses on DPDP Act control mapping, data governance, access control, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives across the organization. You will work with Security, Legal, Compliance, and IT teams to strengthen information protection.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance and Microsoft Purview.
• Hands-on experience with DPDP Act mapping and data governance.
• Knowledge of DLP, retention labels, and information protection.
• Understanding of eDiscovery, Audit, and content search.

Responsibilities

• Manage L2 support activities for Purview and 365 Compliance solutions, including incident troubleshooting and service optimization.
• Implement, configure, administer, and optimize Microsoft Purview solutions across the organization.
• Configure, tune, and optimize DLP policies, Sensitivity Labels, Retention Labels, and other compliance controls.
• Investigate and resolve escalated incidents related to DLP, information protection, data classification, retention, audit, and compliance events.
• Support compliance investigations using Purview Audit, Content Search, eDiscovery, and Compliance Manager.
• Assist in mapping technical controls aligned with the DPDP Act and organizational compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Security, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams to strengthen data governance and information protection.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base documentation.
• Mentor and guide L1 analysts on Purview operations and troubleshooting best practices.
• Monitor compliance posture, policy effectiveness, and security alerts, recommending continuous improvements.

4–6 years of experience in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance and Microsoft Purview.

• Good understanding of data governance, information protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and compliance control mapping.
• Experience in L2 incident handling, troubleshooting, and operational support for Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Compliance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Entra ID integration is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (SC 401) - Preferred.
• Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400) - preferred.
• Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
