Qualifications

  • Four years of professional level experience related to the class concept AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of professional level experience AND Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.

Senior Project Manager

Oregon Department of Transportation Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV) Systems & Planning Branch, Salem.

Join our team as a senior project manager where you will provide DMV business units with the definition and justification of proposed information technology (IT) related projects that support the agency’s goals. Serving as part of the leadership team, you will oversee business processes, assemble and guide teams through assigned projects, serve as a consultant to DMV leaders on design, implementation and optimization of business processes, conduct assessments related to business architecture, develop and implement standards, oversee improvement efforts, and much more.

A day in the life

Occasional travel to DMV offices and other locations throughout the state is required. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with at least one day in the office per month for team meetings.

Minimum qualifications
  • Seven years of professional level experience related to the class concept

What we’d like to see
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience mentoring junior project managers and other project team members.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, especially public speaking, group facilitation, conflict resolution and resource negotiation.
  • Experience using procurement and project oversight framework systems similar to Oregon Buys and DAS/EIS Stage Gate.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable project management credential.
