Job summary

Sterling & Wilson is seeking an experienced design and engineering professional for EHV substations (AIS and GIS up to 765 kV) in Mumbai. You will drive tendering through commissioning, develop design deliverables, and coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of protections systems and SCADA/SAS, ability to review vendor offers, conduct design reviews with clients, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/IS/CEA standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in design and engineering of EHV Substations (AIS/GIS) up to 765 kV.
• Responsible for tendering to commissioning of EHV GIS/AIS substations.
• Prepare, review and approve design deliverables such as SLDs, Layouts, GA, bus schemes, earthing, and lighting.
• Coordinate with civil, structural and mechanical teams for foundations and layout constraints.
• Knowledge of protection systems and SCADA/SAS; develop or review protection schemes and relay settings.
• Review vendor offers and resolve conflicts; participate in design reviews and client audits.
• Conduct system studies (load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, protection coordination).
• Inspect / FAT at equipment vendors' factory with client.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA standards and client standards.

Role & responsibilities

• Experience in Design & Engineering of EHV Substations , both AIS and GIS (Upto 765kV)
• Handled EHV GIS/ AIS substation projects engineering Tendering to Commissioning.
• Supported the tendering teams by developing BOQ, Design basis report (DBR), submittals, Layout SLDs etc).
• Prepare, review, and approve design deliverables (SLD, Layout, GA, bus schemes, earthing, lighting etc)
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical teams for equipment foundations and layout constraints.
• Able to review vendors offers and discuss with them resolve all conflicts.
• Sound knowledge and experience of handling Protections System and SCADA / SAS.
• Able to develop or review protection schemes, relay settings, and control logic diagrams and schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings.
• Handled design review meeting and technical audits etc with client and convince customers for organizational benefits.
• Able to manage inspections / FAT at equipment vendors' factory with client
• Sound knowledge of relevant standards and specifications (IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA regulations, and client standards) to for design and engineering
• Handle or Conducted system studies (load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, protection coordination, etc.) in coordination with system study engineers.
