Job summary

Stantec is looking for a Power Platform Specialist in Pune, India, to support the Project Management team by leveraging Microsoft Power Platform tools like Power BI and Power Apps. This full-time position focuses on automating workflows, digitalizing project controls, and enhancing reporting quality to enable data-driven decisions across various projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of experience in Power Platform development along with a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders effectively.

Primary Purpose of Job

Power Platform Specialist will support the Project Management team by designing, developing, and maintaining low code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint). The role focuses on digitizing project controls, automating PMO workflows, improving reporting quality, and enabling data‑driven decision making across projects, programmes, and portfolios.

Power Platform Development & Automation

• Design and develop Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑Driven) to support project management use cases such as registers, logs, approvals, and trackers.
• Build and maintain Power Automate flows to automate routine PMO and project controls processes (e.g., reporting, notifications, approvals).
• Manage integrations between SharePoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Dataverse to ensure seamless data flow across tools.

Project Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards for project performance, cost, schedule, utilisation, and risk reporting.
• Translate project controls data into actionable insights for Project Managers and leadership.
• Replace manual, Excel‑heavy reporting with standardised, automated dashboards, aligning with current PM practices.

PMO & Project Controls Enablement

• Work closely with Project Controls Specialists to understand operational pain points and convert them into digital solutions.
• Support governance, data quality, and version control for Power Platform solutions used across multiple projects.
• Maintain documentation, user guides, and support materials for developed applications and dashboards.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to optimise project workflows using low‑code/no‑code solutions.
• Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform features, security, and best practices, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards.
• Support adoption and basic training of end users (PMs, analysts, coordinators).

Technical Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint/Dataverse, and integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365 tools.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, relationships, and performance optimisation in Power BI.

Project Management Domain Knowledge

• Familiarity with project management or project controls concepts (cost, schedule, utilisation, risks, KPIs).
• Experience working with PMO, engineering, infrastructure, or consulting project environments is highly desirable.

Professional Experience

• 3–6 years of experience in Power Platform development, business automation, or analytics roles.
• Experience supporting multiple projects or stakeholders in a matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL 100, PL 200, PL 300, or equivalent).
• Experience in infrastructure, engineering, or professional services organisations.
• Exposure to governance, security, and environment management within Power Platform.
