Job summary

Premidis SARL in India seeks a senior procurement leader to design and execute a group-wide strategy for production needs, equipment, and materials.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted supply, manage local and international suppliers, and drive cost savings while upholding quality and compliance.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytics, and leadership to build a high-performing procurement team and ensure ethical sourcing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a group-wide procurement strategy aligned with production plans, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Lead sourcing and purchasing for production machinery, plant equipment, spare parts, raw materials, ingredients, packaging, utilities, and operational supplies.
• Research and maintain knowledge of machinery markets, suppliers, technical specs, pricing, lead times, and after-sales service options.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, finance and logistics to plan purchases.
• Ensure critical machinery and supplies are available to minimise downtime and avoid production interruptions.
• Identify, assess, qualify, and manage local and international suppliers, including due diligence and performance reviews.
• Lead tenders, RFQs, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and PO processes.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and service agreements to achieve value for money.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery, service and compliance; resolve issues and elevate risks.
• Establish procurement controls, approvals, documentation standards and ethical sourcing practices.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and purchasing data.
• Analyse spend, forecast demand, track savings and prepare procurement reports for management.
• Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership and manage purchasing risks.
• Coordinate with logistics and customs on international shipments and duties.
• Support inventory planning with warehouse and operations; monitor critical stock and obsolescence.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with laws, policies and health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Build and develop a procurement team with clear performance expectations and accountability.
• Visit factories and depots to understand needs and verify procurement priorities.

• Research and maintain current knowledge of machinery markets, equipment suppliers, technical specifications, pricing, lead times, and after-sales service options.
• Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, finance, and logistics teams to understand requirements and plan purchases.
• Ensure critical machinery, spare parts, and production supplies are available when needed to minimise downtime and avoid production interruptions.
• Identify, assess, qualify, and manage local and international suppliers, including conducting supplier due diligence and performance reviews.
• Lead tenders, requests for quotation, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and purchase-order processes.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, service agreements, and other contractual conditions to achieve value for money.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery, service, and compliance requirements; resolve issues and elevate material risks.
• Establish effective procurement controls, approval processes, documentation standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and purchasing data.
• Analyse spend, forecast demand, track savings, and prepare clear procurement reports for management.
• Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership, improve inventory availability, standardise specifications, and manage purchasing risks.
• Coordinate with logistics and customs teams on international shipments, import documentation, clearance, and delivery to Group sites.
• Support inventory planning and control in coordination with warehouse and operations teams, including monitoring critical stock and obsolete items.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, company policies, delegated authorities, and health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Build, lead, and develop a capable procurement team, setting clear performance expectations and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
• Visit factories, branches, warehouses, and depots as required to understand operational needs and verify procurement priorities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Significant procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, including senior-level responsibility for sourcing, supplier management, and negotiations.
• Food and beverage manufacturing experience is essential; beverage industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of machinery and equipment markets, including sourcing production lines, plant equipment, spare parts, and technical services.
• Experience procuring a broad range of manufacturing inputs, such as ingredients, packaging materials, maintenance supplies, and operational goods.
• Strong commercial and financial skills, with a record of achieving measurable cost savings and improved supplier performance.
• Experience managing local and international suppliers, contracts, tenders, and complex purchasing requirements.
• Understanding of import and export processes, freight, customs clearance, and international procurement is an advantage.
• Able to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, finance and logistics teams.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, planning, communication, and people-management skills.
• High standards of integrity, attention to detail, accountability, and sound judgement.
• Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office; experience with spend analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Group factories, branches, warehouses and depots.
• UAE experience is not required. Relevant manufacturing and procurement capability is the priority.
• Fluency in English is required. Chinese or other languages would be an advantage.
