Role Overview
As one of our Electrical Design Engineers, you will become part of our Global Datacenter team, collaborating with domain experts specializing in Data Center Design and Commissioning globally. You will work on projects from India and other geographies. Based in any of our regional offices, travel will be expected on occasion to fulfil project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design Development
- Prepare Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) including HT / MV / LV systems.
- Develop high-level electrical layouts for substations, switch rooms, UPS rooms, battery rooms, and data halls.
- Perform electrical load calculations and support system sizing.
- Assist in preparation of BOQs, cable schedules, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
- BIM & Coordination
- Coordinate with the Electrical BIM Engineer to ensure Revit models and drawings reflect design intent.
- Participate in MEP coordination and clash resolution.
- Review BIM outputs and drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Quality & Delivery Support
- Ensure deliverables meet project standards, timelines, and QA/QC requirements.
- Incorporate review comments from Senior Engineers and stakeholders.
- Support construction-stage RFIs and design clarifications.
Qualifications
- BE / ME in Electrical Engineering
- 8–12 years of overall experience
- 3–5 years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities
Skills and Experience
- Strong working knowledge of Data Center electrical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit.
- Understanding of power redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
- Ability to interpret electrical calculations, SLDs, and specifications.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of technical reports, design narratives, and client-facing documentation. Strong professional presence in front of clients and stakeholders, with the ability to confidently explain design intent, highlight risks, lead technical discussions, and drive issue resolution. Ability to clearly explain design issues to senior engineers and participate in client or coordination meetings as required, supporting effective issue resolution.
