Job summary

Jacobs in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical capability in electrical engineering for Data Center projects, working with the Data Center Lead on technical aspects and project management.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, perform design tasks from concept to commissioning, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and support proposals and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Extensive experience leading major electrical projects, preferably in high-tech/industrial sectors.
• Deep knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems from design to handover.
• Familiarity with local codes and international standards.
• Minimum 3 years of data center project experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design teams to deliver data center projects across all phases.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and specifications for electrical infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance to project and design engineers; resolve issues.
• Coordinate with disciplines to ensure design conformance and quality.

Job description

Lead Electrical Engineer – India office. This role will provide technical capability in electrical engineering for Data Center projects, working with the Data Center Lead on technical aspects and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical multi-disciplinary/functional team in the region to deliver Data Center and other technically challenging projects.
• Perform engineering tasks on the electrical services from concept, BOD, 35% to 100% designs (including calculations, computer simulations, specifications etc.) for Electrical infrastructure in Data Center projects.
• Provide technical guidance to project and design engineers and resolve any technical problems faced during design and construction stages.
• Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans / specifications are maintained across the project and coordination with other disciplines to ensure consistency across the project.
• Support in preparing proposals and bids when needed.
• Lead project/site meeting with Client, PM and Consultants from other disciplines (internal and external) through all stages of the project.
• Understand and follow plans, procedures, workflows, systems and tools to meet specific project requirements.
• Liaise and coordinate relevant technical issues with other disciplines.
• Build cultivate and build relationships with client generally as a Doer/Seller role.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Extensive years' experience in leading the design of major electrical project or / and leading electrical position of a fast-track project, preferably in the high technology or industrial sector
• Technical knowledge and understanding of Engineering, Design and Construction for High Voltage and Low Voltage Electrical systems from Preliminary Design to Commissioning and Handover
• Familiarity with relevant Local Codes and international standards to ensure compliance.
• Significant years of relevant working experience, with at least 3 years in Data Center Projects.
