Hiresquad seeks a Senior Principal Data Engineer in Pune/Chennai (Hybrid) to provide technical leadership for scalable data platforms and cross-team initiatives in a cybersecurity-focused environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive data architecture decisions, and oversee real-time analytics pipelines and data governance across domains.

Qualifications

• 610 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering in large-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL and Python (expert in one, strong in the other).
• Extensive experience with Snowflake architecture, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience in Kimball dimensional modeling, data warehouses, and star schema architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure for data platforms.
• Experience with DBT or SQL Mesh for data transformation workflows.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow/Trunk-based development, and data governance.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures, and real-time analytics pipelines.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture, Apache Iceberg, and modern data platforms.
• Understanding of data security, GDPR, and PCI-DSS compliance requirements.
• Ability to independently architect solutions and drive technical initiatives.
