Job summary

Hiresquad is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to drive architecture, modernization, and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms. This hybrid role covers Pune and Chennai, mentoring engineers and defining best practices across the Data Engineering organization.

You will own strategic decisions, design scalable cloud-first data solutions, and lead incident management while advancing platform reliability and observability across multi-TB workloads.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering or related roles.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and software engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB.

Lead Data Platform Engineer

Location: Pune / Chennai (Hybrid)

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Platform Engineer to drive the architecture, modernization, and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms. This role will own key technical decisions, build scalable cloud-first data solutions, mentor senior engineers, and define best practices across the Data Engineering organization.

• Drive cloud-native architectures, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and platform reliability.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 1015+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering or related roles.

• Hands-on experience with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB.
• Strong experience with Kafka ecosystem, Kubernetes, Docker, Airflow/Prefect/Dagster.
• Expertise in cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing platforms handling large-scale data workloads and enterprise users.
• Knowledge of legacy data technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica, SSIS is preferred.
• Strong leadership, architecture, and stakeholder management skills.
