Job summary

Assystem in India is seeking a Senior Plumbing and Fire Fighting Engineer to lead design and project delivery for complex infrastructure projects in Navi Mumbai. You will oversee design, calculations, and layouts, ensuring adherence to NFPA, IPC, and local codes, while guiding junior engineers and BIM teams.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with clients and vendors, site inspections, and value engineering to optimize solutions across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• 6–15 years of designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in NFPA, IPC, and local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of plumbing and fire fighting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IPC, etc.).
• Prepare design calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Oversee multiple projects from concept through commissioning.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions and ensure timely completion.
• Review and approve technical documents prepared by junior engineers.
• Conduct quality checks and site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM teams.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and vendors to address project requirements and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
• Experience
  • 6–15 years of proven experience in designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully completed medium to large-scale projects.
• Technical Expertise
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing and fire protection design principles, hydraulic calculations, and water supply/distribution networks.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and hydraulic calculation tools).
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA, IPC, and local building codes/regulations.
• Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
• Certifications (Preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent.
  • NFPA or other relevant fire protection certifications.
