Job summary

Assystem in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced Plumbing and Fire Fighting Design Engineer to lead design and development of systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects, ensuring code compliance and high quality.

You will oversee multi-project delivery, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers and BIM teams. Requires 6–15 years’ proven experience, B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Civil), and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, NFPA/IPC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
• 6-15 years of proven experience in designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems.
• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of plumbing and fire fighting systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA, IPC, and local codes.
• Oversee multiple projects from concept through commissioning and coordinate with stakeholders.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering
  • Lead the design and development of plumbing and fire fighting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IPC, etc.).
  • Prepare design calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Project Management
  • Oversee multiple projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions and ensure timely completion.
• Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
  • Review and approve technical documents prepared by junior engineers.
  • Conduct quality checks and site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Compliance & Team Leadership
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM teams.
• Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and vendors to address project requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and value engineering discussions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
• Experience:
  • 6-15 years of proven experience in designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully completed medium to large-scale projects.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing and fire protection design principles, hydraulic calculations, and water supply/distribution networks.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and hydraulic calculation tools).
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA, IPC, and local building codes/regulations.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
• Certifications (Preferred):
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent.
  • NFPA or other relevant fire protection certifications.
